Thermocouple
As active sensors, thermocouples are widely used in measurement and control technology. They measure the temperature over the very wide temperature range from -200 °C to +1700 °C. They are used in plant, machine and device construction, but also for temperature determination in salt and metal melts. Thermocouples are a low-cost alternative to pyrometers in many high-temperature applications.
